How much does a UAE residence visa cost through a free zone?
Budget roughly AED 4,000–6,000 all-in per investor visa once you include the visa fee, establishment card share, medical, Emirates ID and insurance. Employee visas are usually a little lower. The exact figure depends on the zone and whether you are inside or outside the UAE.
What is a visa quota versus a visa?
Quota is the ceiling — the number of visas your licence is allowed to hold. An actual visa is one you process for a person. Some zones bundle generous quota cheaply (Fujairah, RAKEZ) so you only pay per-visa processing as you hire.
Why is 'change of status' charged?
If you are already inside the UAE on a visit or other visa, the authority converts your status in-country without an exit. It is an optional per-person fee that only applies to inside-UAE applicants.
